Place-Nepal, Mount Everest
Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world. It reaches a total height of 8,848 meters above sea level. It was first climbed in 1953 by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. There aren't any permanent structures on Everest except for post office at base camp. It is too difficult to build any permanent structures on the mountain because of the altitude and the near constant freezing temperatures. The closest thing to a settlement is base camp, the last camp before the big ascent. After that it is nothing but steep faces and deep snow. If there were to be a building on the mountain it would most likely be to serve as a new base camp, a new building would be a great help to those who risk their lives to climb the mountain. It would need to accommodate around 50 or so people, there would need to be a kitchen area with enough storage for a couple weeks of food,There would need to be running water with hot water readily available as well as a heating system. Because of the dangerous nature of the climb I would think there would need to be a rescue service of some kind perhaps a helicopter and of course that would require a helipad, there would also need to be a medical room to treat any wounded. There would need to be multiple building for different teams.

This building I'm imagining would be concrete with very thick walls and thick insulation, any windows would have triple glazing to maximize heat storage, there would be several long corridors with low roofs to keep the heat close to the inhabitants all leading to a big common area with a fireplace and several options for seating like couches and armchairs, the kitchen would be close to this but not closed off, maybe a half wall, then a dining area would be in a room close by but again not closed off. The general shape of the building would be very strange but this would be to seamlessly blend it into the surrounding area, almost shaped like a huge boulder and I imagine it to be covered in metal of different shades of grey and black to again help it blend with the environment.
